Does the higher the altitude of the Pu'er tea tree, the better the quality?

There is such a saying that high mountain rain and mist produce good tea, and all good tea grows in high mountains? It is common knowledge among tea lovers that good tea comes from high mountain clouds and mists, and most of the traditional famous tea producing areas in China come from high mountain areas.

So the question arises, is it that the higher the altitude, the better the tea? In the uneven circle of the tea market, many people are confused by some amplified gimmicks. It can even be said to be foggy, a pair of wise eyes really need a long time polishing exercise.

High altitude Pu'er tea is more refreshing

The quality of tea produced at different altitudes varies greatly. The effect of altitude on the quality of tea is mainly the effect of temperature. The temperature changes with the altitude. Generally speaking, for every 100m rise in altitude, the annual average temperature decreases by 0.5°C. The temperature difference between day and night increases with the rise in altitude.

High altitude climate is relatively mild and low temperature, which is conducive to the metabolism of nitrogen in tea trees, thus forming more nitrogenous compounds such as proteins and amino acids, and the taste of tea is more refreshing.

The tea broth at high altitude has high concentration and good aroma

There is a greater temperature difference between day and night on high mountains, and the organic substances accumulated by photosynthesis during the day are more, while the low temperature at night consumes less respiration, and more organic substances are accumulated in tea leaves, and the water leachate content is high when making tea, and the concentration of tea broth is good.

High mountain clouds, short light and diffuse light, which makes the light quality of red-yellow light and blue-violet light is not easy to transmit, reducing the exposure to ultraviolet light, which is conducive to the formation of chlorophyll, nitrogenous substances and aroma.

Is the higher the altitude the better?

The altitude of tea producing areas in Yunnan is generally between 800-2200 meters, except for Lincang Xigui which grows at an altitude of about 900-1100 meters, in general, the best quality tea in Yunnan is mostly in the altitude of 1300-1800 meters, concentrated at 1500 meters. The higher the altitude, the better it is. The temperature is low at too high an altitude, which is not conducive to the accumulation of catechins and other substances in the tea leaves.

Therefore, the goodness of tea is not entirely limited by the altitude, different kinds of good tea have their most suitable environment, tea lovers do not have to listen to the hype of some business gimmicks.

Each kind of tea has its own suitable environment, people's physique is different, drinking tea is also screened, according to the body needs, according to the flow of the season, choose a suitable tea, three or five friends, invited to drink together, do leisure is also excellent.
